I'm an event professional and graduate student who somehow ended up liking the organized chaos that comes with events. Over the past few years, I've gotten to work on events from a lot of different sides — running them, leading teams, working with clients, building floor plans, and figuring things out when things inevitably don't go according to plan.
What I enjoy most is working with people and taking an idea that's still just an idea and turning it into something people can actually experience. I've had the chance to work on some pretty cool projects so far, and I'm always looking for the next thing I can learn, build, or be a part of.

I'm currently finishing my master's at Oklahoma State through the 4+1 program. I'm able to continue taking classes while also working in the industry, which has been a great way to connect what I'm learning in class with what actually happens when you're putting an event together.
Meeting & Conference Services, OSU Student Union
As a Building Manager at the OSU Student Union, I help keep events moving from setup to teardown. That means working with clients, leading student staff, handling day-to-day operations, and making decisions when something doesn't quite go according to plan.
No two days are really the same, which is probably one of my favorite parts of the job. Sometimes I'm helping set up a room, sometimes I'm solving a problem five minutes before an event starts, and sometimes I'm doing a little bit of everything.
Event & Destination Management Specialist Intern
My internship with Factor 110 was my chance to step outside of campus and get a look at the industry from a different perspective. I worked with floor plans, rentals, logistics, and client projects, and I also got to take on a large expo project from the planning stages all the way through execution.
Getting to actually see an event go from a blank page to a finished space was probably the coolest part. It gave me a better idea of the amount of work that happens behind the scenes — and made me want to keep doing it.
A few things worth pointing to from the work so far.
Helped organize and run Capital Cruise entirely in-house — an event that broke the world record for the largest classic car parade ever, with nearly 3,600 cars on the route. I was solely responsible for the starting line and ran three "party zones" spanning three linear miles of the parade.
Worked the banquet for Cynthia Erivo following her performance at the McKnight Center. I helped set up the frame on stage, and got to shadow the lighting process from start to finish — my first time seeing that side of production up close, and a chance to learn some new technical aspects of how an event is lit.
The large expo project from my Factor 110 internship. I worked on it from the planning stages through execution — floor plans, booth rentals, and the logistics of getting a show floor full of exhibitors, a culinary stage, and aisle after aisle of pipe-and-drape ready before the doors opened.
Worked the Delta Waterfowl Duck Hunters Expo, the largest event in North America dedicated to duck hunters. The three-day trade show filled the Iowa Events Center with more than 200 exhibiting brands, two live speaker stages, a national calling championship, and over 25,000 attendees.

A crown that slots into the top of a pipe and drape upright, letting us hide the poles completely — both the ugly part sticking out above the top and the whole length running down the backdrop.
When the wall-mounted box that held our office keys broke, I kept the original mount and designed a new box to slot right onto it — along with matching keychains stamped with our room number and phone number, so a lost set finds its way back.
A two-piece cover that snaps together to shield my keyboard from dust and cat hair when it's not in use. Split apart, the halves tuck underneath the keyboard itself — out of the way, but still giving it a slight lift for typing.
Custom-fit holders for the rechargeable light sticks mounted above my record player. Each one has printed imprints for the mounting screws and a fitted pocket that embeds a magnet, so the lights snap into place but pop right off when they need to be recharged.
A slim, single-leg stand for keeping my drink right at the perfect height next to my favorite spot on the couch, without a side table eating up the floor space. The three-point foot keeps it steady, and the holder on top is cut open on one side so a mug handle still fits through and stays easy to grab.
A pair of low risers for my vintage bookshelf speakers, styled after the tapered wood stands JBL sold alongside their speakers in the 70s. Each one's printed in a wood-tone finish to blend with the cabinets, tilting the drivers up slightly without the bulk of a full-height stand.
A two-piece holder for the roll of tape I use to date whatever goes in or out of the fridge — groceries, leftovers, stuff I've made. The two halves slide together to secure the roll while still letting the tape pull free easily, and magnets embedded in the back keep the whole thing stuck to the door.
